MOUNT VERNON — Brooke Medcalf, 22, of Boonville, went
home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2004.


Brooke was a 1999 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and a
student at U.S.I., majoring in Elementary Education. Brooke was a
cheerleader and homecoming Queen candidate. She cheered
competitively on "Stars Cheer Elite."

She lettered in her freshman year in cross-country. She worked at
the Mac Center in Mount Vernon through high school, teaching
gymnastics and cheerleading.

She was also very involved with young children working in her
mother's home childcare and was pursuing her education working
with children.

Brooke was currently working at Fox & Hound Pub in Evansville
while attending school at U.S.I.


She was a member of Boonville First Baptist Church.


She loved her cat "Jazzy" and was the sunshine in everyone's life she
touched.

Brooke will be remembered for her patient and sweet spirit that
touched so many lives and will be sadly missed by her family who
loved her so much.


Brooke is survived by her mother and stepfather, Carol and
Kenneth Hargett of Mount Vernon, Ind., and her father and
stepmother, Richard and Mary Medcalf of Boonville, Ind.; sister,
Leah Hargett; brothers, Shane Grimes, Seth Hargett, all of Mount
Vernon, Ind., and Cody Medcalf of Boonville, Ind.; stepsister, Leslie
Boyd of Petersburg, Ind.; and stepbrothers, Andy Ingram of
Newburgh, Ind., and Dylan Seaton of Boonville, Ind.; great-
grandparents, Lester and Catherine Russell of West Virginia,
Evalena Pickens of Ohio and Pauline Heidorn of Boonville, Ind.;
grandparents, Julie Russell of Henderson, Ky., John and Janice
Russell of Oklahoma and Noel and Virginia Medcalf of Boonville,
Ind.; stepgrandparents, Norma Brenner and Robert Hargett of
Mount Vernon, Ind., and Margaret Batson of Boonville, Ind..

She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
